Every winter we try our best to escape the Canberra cold. Sometimes we go to the extreme heat (like Vegas or Hawaii) and other times we just head to the south coast or to Queensland.
Over the last 7 days I've managed to wander to three separate spots on the map which add a few degrees.
I had my author visit to the Gold Coast last weekend where I managed to add at least 5-10 degrees to my days.

Just because I live somewhere where the winters get cold, doesn't mean I have to commit to it 24/7/52/forever.
If I'm not lovin' where I am, I can create opportunities to head in another direction for a while.
We all can.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteIt's always enjoyable to have a change of scene/temperature. It was lovely to catch up with you last week during your GC visit. Enjoy Noosa! :) x
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing you Lyndall! Can't wait to do it again.
DeleteChange is always good! And you are right it's only you that can make the decision to do that change!
ReplyDeleteCertainly is!
DeleteAnd here I am heading off to the snow for my getaway!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely break.

Soooo good.
DeleteI was quite sad to leave my heater this morning to go to work :) Mostly because it has been a hard week and I just want to sleep though. Heaters & snuggly things are great psychological comfort!
ReplyDeleteThat is true. I love my Uggies and heat packs that's for sure
DeleteOh lucky you. I love Noosa and the weather has been beautiful over the past few weeks. You enjoy having a break and some warmer weather. :) #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteNoosa has not disappointed! It's just divine.
DeleteYou have been lucky to visit some lovely spots as well as warm yourself up a bit! Looks like you're in a lovely spot at Noosa too. Enjoy! :-) #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteGot a lovely house on Noosa Waters. Gorgeous neighborhood
DeleteIt is nice just to get away from the norm! Enjoy your break.
ReplyDeleteYep. An escape from the same old, same old
DeleteOh I think there's a deep message there as well Leanne and I know you probably weren't meaning to be hugely profound but basically... IF YOU'RE NOT LOVING WHERE YOU ARE (AT), CHANGE IT!
ReplyDeleteI know people can't always jet off to warmer places or go on holidays but you've reminded me we can do small things to cheer ourselves up. Or make small changes so life is less miserable!!!!
I actually did sneak that in that (and tried to make it subtle so I wasn't coming across all preachy). But yes, that is one of my mantras - if you don't like it, then change it.
DeleteYay for you, it's damn cold here in Victoria today, we had a frost overnight which is not common given we are on the coast. I'm sitting on top of my heater dreaming of Europe later this year. Enjoy lovely Noosa, it's a favourite spot of ours.
ReplyDeleteDreaming for Europe sounds like a great dream
DeleteI wish I was headed somewhere warm. Hot tea and ducted heating seem to be doing the trick for now.
ReplyDeleteThank the Lord for ducted heating
DeleteI do like the change of cold weather...at least right now!!! Otherwise, I'd never get to wear the sweaters that I've knitted!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO

Hahaha. Maybe I should take up knitting then. Actually, I do love having four seasons, but winter escapes are what keep me sane.
DeleteIt's great that you have the opportunity to travel so much Leanne - I'm starting to feel the need for a few days away - I must start prodding my husband in that direction!
ReplyDeleteWe've always got something planned. Whether it be a big trip overseas or a small getaway to our local coastal area - gotta have something to look forward to.
DeleteI am wishing we planned our trip to QLD earlier, I could do with escaping the cold right now! Only a month and a half to go.
ReplyDeleteOoooh! That will come quickly. Enjoy!
DeleteHolidays are the best, glad you got away!
ReplyDeleteTotally the best. Very happy to be here :)
DeleteWe escaped the winter to the Kimberley last year. I have just started my second cold for the winter so I am wishing we were up there again his year in the warmth! Happy travels and thank you so much for stopping by my blog this week.
ReplyDeleteBoooo for colds. My Dad has brought his with him on this trip. Even Noosa couldn't shake it for him.
