Day 2874 - Wellness Wednesday - Walking around Lake Burley Griffin

The Scenic Walk Series Part Four

OK. So we've walked from Coogee to Bronte, we've wandered through the Noosa National Park, we've taken a scenic stroll through the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney and today I thought I'd take you for a walk on my home turf.

Let's do the bridge to bridge walk around Canberra's Lake Burley Griffin.

The bridge to bridge walk (or run) can be started anywhere given it's a circuit.  I usually start at Regatta Point and park my car at The Deck Restaurant because I somehow manage to nab one of the one hour free spots which fits in just nicely with the walk.

The walk itself is 4.96km but I'll always claim the extra 0.04 and take it as a 5.

It's a common circuit for fun runs (including the annual Mother's Day Fun Run) and for lunch time walks for the public servants.

In spring it is filled with blossoms and summer shows a lot more green.  These pics were taken in the coldest part of winter so it's looking a bit bare.  Regardless, it's still scenic!

Where's your favourite walking track?

Have you done the Canberra "bridge to bridge" walk?

What scenic walk will we go on next?
