Day 2875 - The Lovin' Life Linky - Book Week Edition

Who's been celebrating Book Week?

The 2017 Children's Book Council of Australia Book Week was officially 19-24 August. But it seems that a week isn't enough here in the land of Oz as I've been getting Book Week photos from kids since the start of the month.  Let's call it a Book Festival shall we?

You may recall my post this time last year where I chatted about the excitement of being an Author and seeing people dress as Cheer Chick Charlie. It's seriously better than Christmas.

Nothing has changed.  It's still one of the things I'm lovin' most about life right now.

Here are just a few of my Book Week Charlie's. Aren't they gorgeous!

I feel so grateful and blessed that children embrace this little cheerleader and go to the effort of sending me their Book Week photos each year.  It's one of life's greatest joys.

Which Book Week characters have you seen this month?

Any characters roaming around your house?

Who did you dress up as when you were a kid?

It's Lovin' Life Linky time.

The Lovin' Life Linky is brought to you by Team Lovin' Life: Deep Fried Fruit, DebbishSeize the Day Project, Write of the MiddleAnd Anyways50 Shades of Age and Lifestyle Fifty

  1. That must be so rewarding seeing them as your character! Last week in Sydney I was lucky enough to catch my nephew dressed up for the day as Cat In The Hat.

  2. How amazing seeing your readers become your character! Definitely a sign they love your books!

  3. How exciting and you must be so inspired to see your fans dressed as your character!

    Well done!

  4. What a delight it is to see children are your character. This just the icing on the cake for you! Well-done Leanne on being such an inspiring writer and reader. Book character parades and dress ups are long as no-one gets hurt by competition! It's a great way to highlight the most important gift of literacy. Denyse x

  5. Mine went as Billie B. Brown - but there was a Harry Potter who'd made an owl with a helium Balloon, so it floated along behind him. I liked that one....

  6. I don't ever remember book week being a thing when I was at school - so my knowledge of it comes from friends who have kids IG posts basically.
I grew up in the Pizza Hut Book-It years :)

  7. I've enjoyed seeing all of the Book Week costumes on social media etc though it seems very stressful for parents (despite it being fun for kids).

I actually went to a night time reading session at my godson's school that was fun. Kids and adults were invited to wear PJs but only one other adult besides my friend and I wore their pyjamas!

  8. How fantastic to see your readers dress up as a character from Cheer Chick Charlie. You are such an inspiration to so many :)

  9. Your Book Week Charlie's are gorgeous! I've enjoyed seeing everyone's kids dressed up for Book Week but secretly I am SO glad I don't have to do that anymore. Shhhhh!! :-) #TeamLovinLife

  10. They are all so cute and it's lovely to see little girls dressesd appropriately and celebrating fun and healthy activities. You are so lucky to be a part of this and good on you for being such a role model to the next generation :)

  11. How awesome to see your character come to life at book weeks around the country!! My children's school always has their book fair a week later then anyone else in the area... no idea why!

  12. When my son was of an age where they do book week, it was not a happening thing at the schools he attended. Probably just as well, as he was never into the dress up as a character thing. So I would of had a major battle on my hands trying to get him to take part.

I love hearing your thoughts! Keep them rolling in :)
