Kathy Marris - 50 Shades of Age |
As a blogger I am lucky to associate with other talented writers, including many bloggers within the Ageing Positively genre.
I'm delighted today to hand over the Wellness Wednesday reins to Kathy Marris from 50 Shades of Age as she shares 3 quick tips on how she keeps fit and healthy in her 50s.
1.
Move your body. It doesn’t matter if you walk, run, do yoga, sweat it out
at the gym or even dance around your living room! Any form of exercise is good
for you. It not only helps to keep the middle-aged spread under control but
it’s good for your emotional wellbeing, your skin and keeps those muscles
toned.
2.
Eat good quality fresh food. If a food says it’s low fat or light, it
usually means it’s full of sugar, so I avoid these foods. Go for normal milk,
yoghurt and cheese, but in moderate quantities. Indulge in the abundance and
variety of fresh vegetables and fruits we have on offer and make them the main
food group in your diet. Also eat small amounts of red meat, chicken, fish,
seafood and eggs for protein twice a day. Avoid most processed foods where
possible as they are full of additives and sugar.
3.
To me a voluptuous healthy body always looks much more attractive than a
skinny under-nourished body. Accept your shape - your womanly curves, fat
around your thighs, hips and stomach - because that is what a woman is supposed
to look like. Don’t get caught up in the comparison game of wanting to look
like the images of perfect women that are portrayed in the media and on TV.
Aspire to have a healthy body and not a skinny one. Besides fat plumps you out
when you get older and helps you look younger!
Thanks for sharing my health tips with your readers Leanne. I hope they're helpful.
ReplyDeleteLove all these in their simplicity but especially the last one as that's something I still struggle with!
