Harvey hanging out at the hairdressers |
Say hello to Harvey.
"Hello Harvey!"
(Hello readers).
Harvey is my brand spanking new HP Spectre.
Now I know what it's like to be truly mobile! I mean, I have written about my mobile office before but previously it came with an extra 10kgs of stuff in a wheelie suitcase that required a power point. Not so bad when you're travelling through airports, but it starts to get a bit cumbersome when you're walking the streets of Sydney.
I became the expert of finding free eatery seating near power points (the new food court at Broadway Shopping Centre has a row of tables next to pylons with power points) or tracking down public libraries (although the hills can get pretty steep around Ultimo when a 10kg suitcase is being dragged behind you).
Nope, not on holidays. It's just me and my old laptop trying to find somewhere to do some work. |
So you can imagine how thrilled I am to have Harvey in my life. To be able to pick up my computer and carry
Harvey is so wonderful that he comes to McDonalds with me for an iced latte. He sits with me in the car on the edge of a soccer field. He attends client sessions and also hangs out in bed with me of a lazy Sunday (totally platonic of course).
The best part about Harvey is that he isn't "touchy" or precious. He won't shut down and refuse to interact with me the moment I press one of his buttons. He's got heaps of energy. Plus when I wake him up of a morning he remembers who I am.

Say my name Harvey! Say my name! Yep, that's my name. |
If I don't feel like pressing his buttons anymore I can just flip him over. He lets me touch him - all of him. Who knew having a touch screen with a special Active Pen could be so much fun? I mean, I can actually draw on my laptop! Sometimes I even cover him with sticky notes and he doesn't complain.

With the electronic pen you can access Windows Ink Functions like Sticky Notes, Sketch Pad and Screen Sketch |
And that's what I love about Harvey.
Harvey Spectre is what I'm lovin' about life this week.
Do you name your devices?
Anybody else got a Spectre?
How mobile is your mobile office?

It's Lovin' Life Linky time.
The Lovin' Life Linky is brought to you by Team Lovin' Life: Deep Fried Fruit, Debbish, Seize the Day Project, Write of the Middle, And Anyways, 50 Shades of Age and Lifestyle Fifty
Looks fantastic. I really need to upgrade my HP laptop and like you want something more mobile. Just upgraded my phone this week because the old one needed the lens replaced and it was easier to just get a new phone. Perhaps a laptop can be on the top of my list for next month. Back to publishing today but not linking up. As you know I'm not a fan of linking and running.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so much fun getting a new device! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with Harvey :)
ReplyDeleteNext time you're at Broadway, let me know and I'll zip in for coffee. Glad you like the new laptop. It always takes me some time to adjust!
ReplyDeleteHarvey looks handsome :)
ReplyDeleteWell hello there Harvey...aren't you a sight for sore eyes?
ReplyDeleteHellloooo Harvey! I thought you were referring to where you purchased him! I am H for Happy for you and you L for Lappy! Denyse xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and Harvey! What a match made in heaven! LOL I do name my devices. My car is named Harriet the Chariot for example. #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteYaaaay!! Welcome, Harvey. I love a new piece of tech. My mobile office is pretty streamlined these days. An old MacBook Pro {bless its heart, such a work horse}, my phone and usually my mirrorless Fujifilm camera and 35mm lens. And notebooks, of course. ALL the notebooks.
ReplyDeleteHarvey, welcome to the world and it's great to know that you're making life easier!
ReplyDeleteSSG xxx
Welcome to Harvey and what a great friend, Leanne. WE all need a Harvey in our lives!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little bit jealous of you and Harvey - my husband has a similar one and I want one too now. Trouble is I only bought my lap top a year or two ago so I'll be waiting a few more years before I get to have my own touchie feelie Harvey. Enjoy yours x
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so nice to have technology that works so wonderfully for you??
ReplyDeleteYay for Harvey!!
XOXO

I've had laptops for years but until lateish last year I always had a desktop at home. And it's funny... I've been trying to work out why I'm not blogging / writing as much and at work recently I've got a new large screen and I wonder if I'm feeling slack about being on my computer at home as I miss the large screen.
ReplyDeleteI've never become addicted to working elsewhere with my laptop but dream of being someone who works at cafes etc...
Harvey sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI just found your linky and hope to be back soon to link up. In the meantime, I hope you and Harvey have a long relationship :)
ReplyDeleteJealous! I so need one!
ReplyDeleteHarvey sounds like the perfect companion! I do love my little Mac Pro Notebook, he (or is it she?) is very amiable and goes everywhere with me. I wouldn't be without either my laptop of iPhone!
ReplyDeleteI've been talking to people recently who name their kindle but I have to say I don't have names for any of my electronics - my cars, though...that's a different matter!
ReplyDeleteYou can touch him all over *falls over laughing*
ReplyDeleteAlways love getting a new device! I have had a Macbook air since 2015 and it's changed my life as it's so lightweight. I take it everywhere with me.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Harvey :) How nice to have a new computer.
