Day 3109 - The Lovin Life Linky - School Holiday Edition

A week in the life of Deep Fried Fruit

I love that I still have students in my house and I love that those students still get school holidays.  When their routine changes, so does mine.  They give me the excuse I need to switch to half pace.

What have we been up to this past week?

Last weekend after our boy's soccer game we packed our bags and headed to the coast for 3 nights for a quick get-away.

It was just enough to make it feel like we'd been on vacay.

The rest of the time has been spent pottering around the house with the occasional treat such as my "plus one" invitation to sample the sensational Chinese high tea at Natural 9, Casino Canberra.

The teen daughter was wined and dined at an exclusive session to sample their Mothers Day wares.  We had the restaurant to ourselves as we snacked on these incredible treats and the staff hovered nearby to ensure we were well looked after.  Divine.

Leaving the best til last:

Now of course I must clue you in on our biggest news of the year thus far.

Our extended family was on tender hooks last week as Chelsea headed to Chris O'Brien Lifehouse for her mid chemo scans.  It was time to find out if the many many tumours taking over her body were responding to the latest treatment.

The bottom line is they are.  In what has been deemed as miraculous, this new type of chemo has rid her of 90% of the disease.

To say we are happy, relieved and over the moon is an understatement.  Finally some good news for our big grown up girl.  Renewed hope.  She will continue with chemo until the cancerous bastards have gone completely and we can get her back into remission.

To get the latest update head to the Team Chelsea Go Fund Me page and click on the "updates" tab.

So that's what I'm lovin about life this week.

  • School holidays,
  • Being my daughter's "plus one" at fancy events and
  • The power of positive thinking combined with the miracles of modern medicine.

What about you? What have you been up to?

What are you lovin' about life?
