I've lovin' that I can still buy strawberries.
The weather in the ACT is about to take an incredible nose dive. After giving us temps in the 20s for an extended period, the Bureau of Meteorology has advised that Mother Nature will be officially handing us our dose of winter from hereon in. We'll be looking at a top of 14 today and a bone jarring top of 9 tomorrow after a zero start. Towards the end of next week we'll no doubt be delighted when we hit a top of 17 again which is when I'll be jumping on a plane to head to Queensland for a few days. #notjoking
So given winter is just about here and our blue skies may be decreasing, more than ever I'll be concentrating on the little things.
Spray tans
This week I'm lovin' spray tans. In preparation for a night out last week I went from a boiled chook to a BBQ chook to ensure my new cocktail dress wasn't outshone by my bright white legs. I'm also lovin' that the hubby and I got to attend the event and help raise money for Karinya House which is an incredible charity that helps pregnant women and new mothers in crisis.

New mattress and bedding
Given I've been sleeping well and waking with reduced body pain means I'm also lovin' our new "bed in a box" Koala mattress and the new fibromyalgia medication my doctor has me on. Given it's not a controlled experiment I'm not sure which to thank the most, but the combination of the two is definitely working for me.
See my post about the importance of a new mattress here.

New bedding from KMart - which I should have ironed for the photo ... but ... meh |
Big Woolly Jumpers
As the temperature drops I'm diving under my bed to my IKEA under bed storage for my jumpers. There's nothing like a big woolly knit to make you feel cozy.

The other stuff
Other things I'm lovin' include:
- Zucchini bake
- Being a soccer mum
- Having a social influencer daughter who has yet another event to take me to this week
- Country town vets who charge less than half of what our city vets would charge for a dog
- Cheap note books that I can scribble my to-dos in big letters (sorry trees)
- Stan and a whole new range of viewing (currently watching "Rise")
- Frequent flyer points and our upcoming jaunt to the Gold Coast next weekend.
When it's all said and done, we can always find something to love.
What are you lovin' about life this week?
Anyone else watching Stan?
Who has had to dive into their sweater bag and pull out some knits?

A lovely list of things to love, Leanne.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of mini clipboards I load with recycled paper I tear in half. Poor woman's notebooks!!! I'm actually off to Kmart today find another mini clipboard!

I'm still growing strawberries which amazes me and they're huge:)
ReplyDeleteJust lovely - and those matresses are so kooky - we got one. I didn't think it would fit our bed and then it just 'grew'
ReplyDeleteA great list. Enjoy your snuggly jumpers and your Gold Coast getaway.
ReplyDeleteVery nice list! We're in spring here and looking forward to warmer weather.
ReplyDeleteThere is a 'spring' in your step I see...even though winter is almost here. Love that new meds are helping . Long may that continue. My 19 yo GD and her partner are in Jindabyne for work and they will know what has hit them from now on!! Happy Thursday.... Denyse x
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous picture of you are your partner at the fundraising function. Melbourne is just hitting a cold snap now ...argh
ReplyDeleteYou've reminded me that we really need a new mattress too! I can't believe those temps you're expecting in Canberra. Nothing like that expected here in BrisVegas! lol #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteWe too are loving our new mattress - we went up from a Queen to a King and a super comfy but firm combo from Snooze. Very happy with that.
ReplyDeleteCanberra winter ugh to those cold temps, as we are heading there in June for a birthday party. It is expected to be 28 here today on the Sunny Coast so you will enjoy your time on the Goldy. Have fun.
Strawberries are the best! They are my son's fave and now I've started loving them too!

No knits required on the Gold Coast just yet! But I do believe it may drop below 20 in the next few days. I hope it's still warm enough for your trip up my way for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteLoved your dress and don't we all love KMart for a bargain buy? I can't believe how cheap their stuff is and yet how great it looks. I even snap up a top or a pair of shoes occasionally - such bargains!
ReplyDeleteIts funny that just this week, we were commenting at work how amazing the strawberries were!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for strawberries to come into season here. They can't be beaten - and neither can new bedding. There is something that feels automatically luxurious about it.
ReplyDeleteKMart has some great homewares these days Leanne, don't they? I have never had a spray tan because I have horrible dreams of looking bright orange. I'm sure they have improved so perhaps that should be a step out of my comfort zone??? You looked lovely btw. Have a great week.
