Long drives south heading off the main roads to find the hidden gems Ebor Falls, Waterfall Way, NSW |
I'm still adding pics to Instagram on the daily, but that's just part of the modern holiday mindset. What I'm not doing is answering emails, working on projects or making myself too available.
Stuff that I've loved over the last week include:
- Releasing my book and hanging out with Cheer Chick Charlie fans
- Spending time with family and catching up with more bloggy friends
- Being near the ocean
- Daily ball games in a heated pool
- Doing fun stuff like quad biking and surfing down sand dunes
- Seeing new things and visiting new places
Lovely beach walks from Broadbeach to Surfer's Paradise and back again |
Finally seeing my book in the hands of my readers and getting to meet new Charlie fans who are experiencing Charlie for the first time |
Hanging out with online buddies in real life Deep Fried Fruit and Seize the Day Project |
Actually getting in a pool that is warm enough for my tired old bones and playing ball with my boy |
Experiencing the sand dunes around Newcastle |
Just hanging out |
I have to be honest, there is also a whole heap of stuff I'm not loving about life right now too. There are shitty things, disappointing things, stressful things and a whole host of challenges. But Thursday's are for positivity so we'll park the other stuff to the side for now.
Today is the day for Lovin' Life.
What are you lovin'?
Anybody else closed their laptop and turned their phone on silent?
Have you explored new parts of your world?
Who else only gets in the pool if the water temp is above 26 degrees?

ReplyDeleteThanks Natalie
DeleteHere's to all you can savour from this time with the fans, the family and friends....as you head back into 'all of the stuff' that is happening....sending BIGGEST hugs. Denyse xxx
ReplyDeleteBig hugs right back at ya
DeleteLove the pics esp the one of you and Lyndall! So sorry I couldn't catch up with you this time around x
ReplyDeleteNext time Janet!
DeleteI am creating so much at the moment and it all feels so right. My work is helping os many people and I love how that makes me feel and helps me create even more.
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling! It's a great feeling to have a power within us that extends beyond us
DeleteLovely news about the new book and that you got to spend some quality time with the family. You're right that there's always crappy stuff, but there's always good stuff too.
ReplyDeleteThe book launch was a lot of fun
DeleteYes fabulous news about your new book. I wish I'd made it up to Broadbeach to get a signed copy. I was following you on Instagram and I now want to visit Ebor Falls and the Waterfall Way. I never really knew this existed (and I thought I'd been everywhere!) It's now on the bucket list. We recently did a camping trip to Double Island Point north of Noosa which was incredible.
ReplyDeleteThe waterfall scenery was incredible. Unfortunately two of the three falls we visited had no "waterfall" due to the drought. So make sure you check the water levels and flow before you make a special trip. Pretty amazing country side and gorges though, despite the lack of water.
DeleteAs my mother says - if you can't say anything nice, talk about the weather. I'm talking about the weather a lot at the moment.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I love it! Wise mum ...
DeleteCongrats on the book launch and yay for holidays! You look quite relaxed! Not really lovin life right now personally but hoping that will change.
ReplyDeleteHope you can find some good around the edges of the bad soon Sanch xo
DeleteCongratulations on the book launch. It has to be warm for me to get in the pool. Actually what am I talking about I was training for waterpolo outdoors in the cold and rain. Ok scrap that!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I'm a warm weather swimmer only. For me to get int he ocean the outside temp has to be in the mid 30s minimum. But despite the temps only being early 20s on the Gold Coast last week, the pool temp was divine!
DeleteCongrats on your book launch. That is so very cool. Looks like that you have a wonderful and busy week.
ReplyDeleteIt was very cool. Hanging out with the kids who love my books is my fave thing.
DeleteGood for you for concentrating on the positive aspects of the week. I try to do this too, although some weeks are easier than others!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!
XOXO

Some weeks definitely better than others, that's for sure. Some years better than others too! Some years we can smile through life naturally, others we need to paste it on our face in the hope the happy chemicals will release and get us through.
DeleteI've hit a bit of a wall since my return. I'm glad it didn't happen while I was away but struggling a little to: do stuff, but have a break as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, I find the balance tricky at times. I'm really good whilever I'm DOING, but then when I'm taking a break I hit the wall. When I stop I find it hard to get started again! There doesn't seem to be a middle ground for me.
