Day 3500 - The things I'm looking forward to

We all need something to look forward to.

The city view from the Novotel Sydney where I'll spend two nights with the bestie

I'm finding it weirdly difficult to get out of bed of a morning.  Is it the Canberra cold? Is it my current medication? Is it the hug I was given from friends?

It's none of the above.  This has been creeping up on me for months.  I'm not used to it because I was always that girl that launched out of bed at 5.00am with much enthusiasm to seize the day.  I don't feel much like seizing anything right now. That bothers me.

So anyway, rather than write about what I'm lovin' about life right now, I thought I might write about what I'm looking forward to in life right now.

(1) Top of the list is my bestie from Pennsylvania flying in in two weeks. All by herself. No husband and kids.  It will just be the two of us doing whatever it is that besties do.  Hanging out and celebrating 30 years of friendship.

(2) Jet boating around Sydney Harbour which is a belated Shea/Langdown Christmas gift.  A boat load of Shea/Langdowns bouncing through the water and doing cool spinny things at a gazillion km an hour

(3) Climbing the Harbour Bridge with above bestie

(4) Going for those fantastic cliff top walks from Coogee to Bondi with above bestie

(5) Binge watching TV, drinking tea and talking non-stop with above bestie

(6) Living two weeks of everyday life in Canberra with above bestie.

Other things I'm looking forward to of the less obvious kind are:

(1) Getting the mojo, enthusiasm and will power to finish the next issue of Cheer Kids Magazine

(2) Getting the mojo, enthusiasm and will power to relaunch Cheer Chick Charlie

(3) Getting the mojo, enthusiasm and will power to become house proud again

(4) Getting the mojo, enthusiasm and will power to get fit and fabulous for fifty

(5) Getting the mojo, enthusiasm and will power for some creative and regular blogging

(6) Getting mojo, enthusiasm and will power full stop.

The most immediate things I'm looking forward to are:

(1) Finishing this post so I can sneak an hour of The Bold Type on Stan before waking up the son to finish his assignment due today

(2) Vacuuming the house of autumn leaves that keep sneaking in on the bottom of shoes and dog paws

(3) Weet-bix and peppermint tea

(4) Road trip to Wagga on the weekend with a car load of 15 year old boys as we take another soccer road trip

(5) Hopefully seeing our granddaughter again real soon because I miss our daily after school catch-ups.

(6) Checking out the latest photos on Facebook of the folks holidaying in Cuba.

What are you looking forward to?

Anyone else ready for their Weet-bix?

What's your go to TV show of the moment?

  6. I call what you are doing as you are going through "such an awful lot of grieving"....this: putting one foot in front of the other. To be kind to yourself without indulgence too much is something to finely tune. You are doing things OK for all that has happened in the past years. Great to have so much to look forward to. Instead of willing that mojo back, try actually writing something (anything!) at the computer and it may amaze you as your mind and body remember together what to do. Denyse x

  7. How exciting to have your friend visiting Leanne and I'm sure that will perk you up. As will the jaunt around Sydney Harbour and Climbing the Bridge. We all have times when life is just too damn hard and we do need things to look forward to. I'm looking forward to our Alaskan Cruise and Canadian Rockies Tour in September and in the immediate future, celebrating my grandson's first birthday. Wishing you a beautiful day. #lovinlifelinky
