Day 3541 - How going back to work might be good for your soul

Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to work I go ...

Just being a poser and realising I only have the one pose!

So this is me typing at warp speed because I'm also needing to get ready for work while juggling my soccer communications stuff, deal with farting dogs, sleeping teens, whizzing up my smoothie, making lunches, freeing up space on my hard drive so I can actually get this darn computer to let me upload a photo, handling a coast house inquiry on Stayz and trying to work out what the sticky stuff is on the bottom of my slipper.

I know, I know ... call a whaaaambulance.

The reality is, it's taking me a bit of getting used to being back at work in a full time job working for a reasonably big organisation, where there are set hours, peak hour issues and the need to get dressed in actual clothes and brush my hair.

As you can imagine the house has gone to shit, there's been far too much take-away food of late and I don't even know where my family is at any given time.

Apparently my husband is away working remotely while visiting his parents for a few days, my daughter has been doing some modelling shoots and my son is wearing casual clothes to school during a "reflections" period this week as they end their first semester of year 10.  Who knew?

This being out of the house between daylight hours is kinda feral in some respects, but totally liberating at the same time.

Despite all that I have written up there, I think that getting back to work may actually be good for my soul.

1. I am meeting new people and learning new things
2. I am forced to get dressed up each day and spend time on my appearance
3. There is money flowing into the bank account regularly that I have earned myself
4. My kids are having to step up and do more around the house 
5. I am getting to use my talents and actually get paid for them
6. I'm adding value out there in the rat race and feeling quite useful
7.  My hubby is spoiling me with freshly washed PJs folded on the bed, dinner cooked and the vacuuming done
8. I get to go shopping and buy lovely clothes that cost more than $15 a piece 
9. I'm reprioritising and not focusing on the small stuff
10. I feel alive

As you can see by the time stamp advising what time this post was published, I'm not doing so well in the time management department right now.  This linky was due to go live half an hour ago and I'm still sitting here in my PJs trying to work out how to free up disk space on my hard drive so I can give you a photo.  

Not really the picture of a valuable, well dressed, professional who is on her way to work.  I must confess I did go to work yesterday without showering because with only two weeks in, I'm still living in a whirlwind of chaos. 

But I'm getting there.

And my soul feels good.
