What did the Easter weekend look like to you?
It seems many Australians (at least those I associate with) tend to bugger off at Easter time for a long weekend adventure. Whether visiting relatives, camping, shacking up by the beach or heading off to the hills, we Aussies seem to use this religious event to explore whatever brings us the most joy and peace.
For us the Easter weekend always means family and we will travel to wherever the family might be. Whether our own little tight knit unit, or the extended clan, we'll drive to the place which has the most likelihood of an Easter Sunday roast, a good amount of chocolate and (hopefully) the last chance of warmth and sunshine before autumn well and truly sets in.
This year we spent Easter in Malua Bay on the NSW South Coast to join my parents as we all moved into a new coastal retreat.
The weekend involved unloading furniture, assembling flat-packs and interior design. While that was time consuming, it wasn't our only focus. We still managed to spend plenty of time on the beach, eat copious amounts of chocolate and partake in an Easter feast.
You and your family are deserving of all the relaxation you get. I know everyone works hard to be able to play hard too. Congratulations on the newest beach retreat. We spent a very quiet Easter. So different for us these days but we have lots of family memories to sustain us. Denyse x
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of Malua Bay before. Sounds like a fabulous getaway for you all! We had terrible weather here in SE Qld so we stayed home. Still had a lovely Easter get together for lunch over at Mum's on Easter Sunday with all the family though!
ReplyDeleteI was looking at the store for those Lindt eggs the other day and they were sold out! I was so bummed as that is my favorite kind of chocolate and the Easter bunny hadn't brought me anything this year. Our Easter found my husband and oldest son working on the foundation of my mother in law's new house while I baked up a box mix of brownies and a ham dinner... I don't know what my younger two boys did!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed relaxing. I pretty much stayed home and fired up the grill and relaxed also. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
